This blog will begin a bit later in April…. but for reference:

HELLO!! I’m kristin fukushima. I work in Little Tokyo at the Japanese American Citizens League – Pacific Southwest District, and therefore I am here almost every day. Yes, sometimes even weekends (such is life). I haven’t totally figured out what I want to do with this blog… but I’m envisioning something that provides a glimpse into what’s going on in JTown, plus my own reflections/commentary on things. Some of you might ask – isn’t there already a blog for Little Tokyo? Why yes, you might be referring to http://blog.littletokyounplugged.org/. Which I totally recommend as a blog for folks to follow. What makes mine different? Great question!! It is unclear. However, one obvious difference is that this blog is just me, whereas the other blog folks from all over the community post on it (although really, it’s mostly LTSC and JANM). I would say the other big difference is that while the other blog is a place people generally use to advertise events/programs/projects, etc with occasional updates from issues in the community, this blog will more focused on what these issues are, and my thoughts on them. So I won’t pretend that I’m always speaking for the community…. I’m just some young goofy-ass kid who works in the community, loves it a lot, and can get quite chatty about it. So… WELCOME!!! And hopefully my next post won’t be as … well, hopefully my next post will be better.

p.s. – why the title Living, Living J-Town? Easy peasy: although I am not a resident in jtown, I spend a huge majority of my time here. Summer gets particularly crazy. So sometimes I feel like I’m living and breathing jtown. And I also really, really love jtown – I’ll get more into this in my next, or rather, first official post.
