TNP COVID-19 Response and Update

To our Tuesday Night Project family,

For the past two decades, we have been grateful to hold space for our communities and our city. By coming together through community partnerships, long-term artist support, and especially our flagship Tuesday Night Cafe series, we’ve found comfort in gathering and a sense of togetherness through hard times.

As we are all experiencing now, the world has changed drastically over the past few months. Though circumstances are shifting every day, our number one priority as an organization has always been to guard the safety and health of our community. With “safer at home” orders expected to continue and to do our part in flattening the curve by keeping spatial distance from each other, we have decided to postpone the 2020 Tuesday Night Cafe season indefinitely.

With that in mind, we are deeply inspired by our community of artists who have risen to the challenge and created space for sharing in these challenging times. We are exploring ways to meet our mission through new ideas in live streaming, digital collaboration, and hosted online gathering. Through our TNTalks initiative, we hosted the “Tea & Letter Writing” space online and will continue to do so on a monthly basis. Keep watching our social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and newsletter for updates.

We recognize that creating space for art+community right now is a necessity but also a privilege, and thus a responsibility. We feel a great deal of gratitude, concern, and love for the healthcare workers putting themselves at risk as they fight this virus with limited safety supplies and access to relief. We are likewise thinking about the restaurant, grocery store, agriculture, and service industry folks who are also putting themselves at risk and keeping us all nourished in a desperate time.

We are also aware of the need to support our fellow local arts and community organizations at this time where bread-&-butter festivals, events, and fundraisers are facing major adjustments, postponements, or cancellations altogether.

If you are so able, please consider supporting your closest organizations, local mutual aid funds, and essential service providers through monetary donations, medical supply contributions, and  continued patronage of independent businesses.

Finally, as we mourn with those who are mourning and ready ourselves for darker moments to come, we reflect on the power of our shared humanity and are resolute in our commitment to each other. We look forward to affirming that connection again soon.

With love and hope,

Your Tuesday Night Project Family
